A bit about us...

Picture
My name is Linda , and I am the Founder of MediSkin Skin & Laser Clinic and a Senior Dermal Clinician with a Bachelor of Health Science (Clinical Dermal Therapies) from Victoria University (VU), Melbourne, Australia.
My journey in the health and beauty industry began in 2000, when I completed an Advanced Beauty Therapy Apprenticeship in Krefeld, Germany. Following my qualification, I relocated to Münster, where I commenced work at a prominent dermatological skin clinic and cosmetic surgery practice. It was during this time that I specialised in permanent hair removal with electrolysis, therapeutic acne treatments, chemical peels, and the management of sun-damaged and prematurely aged skin. I also gained extensive experience in treating inflammatory skin conditions, including rosacea and eczema, as well as performing medical pedicures.
Working closely alongside dermatologists, plastic surgeons, and nursing staff within a medical setting ignited a strong passion for therapeutically correcting and managing complex skin conditions, shaping the clinical focus that continues to underpin my work today.
In 2006, I relocated to Australia with plans to work and travel. After learning about the Bachelor degree in Dermal Therapy, I enrolled in 2008 and joined a well-established skin clinic in Malvern, Victoria. There, I specialised in medical-grade skin treatments, utilising therapeutic active skincare alongside advanced laser and intense pulsed light (IPL) technologies. I have since successfully treated a wide range of skin concerns, including acne, scarring, pigmentation, rosacea, vascular lesions, and sun-damaged and ageing skin across the face and body. My expertise also extends to podiatric skin treatments, including onychomycosis (fungal nail infections) and laser wart removal on the hands and feet.
I became an active member of the Australian Society of Dermal Clinicians (ASDC) in 2008 and served on its elected committee from 2010 to 2015. In 2012, I worked within a medical clinic in Brighton and lectured in the Dermal Science program at Victoria University, contributing to the education and advancement of future dermal clinicians.
In 2013, my partner and I relocated to Bairnsdale, where I fulfilled a long-held dream of opening MediSkin Skin & Laser Clinic, located within the Bairnsdale Health & Wellness Center. Committed to ongoing professional development, I have completed further training in cosmetic and medical micropigmentation, as well as advanced education in fibroblast plasma treatments in Germany.
To remain at the forefront of skin health, I regularly participate in workshops, seminars, and professional conferences. My practice is grounded in evidence-based research, continuous education, and a genuine passion for achieving optimal skin health outcomes.
When I am not immersed in the world of Skin, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and being outdoors.

Friendly Greetings
Linda

My name is Melissa , and I am a Senior Dermal Clinician and Beauty Therapist with over 15 years of experience in the health and skin industry. I hold a Bachelor of Health Science (Clinical Dermal Therapies) from Victoria University (VU), Melbourne, and bring a strong clinical foundation combined with a calm, caring approach to treatment.
I have worked extensively within a well-established, results-driven skin clinic in Hawthorn, where I gained valuable experience across advanced skin treatments, customised treatment planning, and long-term client care. I am passionate about evidence-based skin therapies and delivering outcomes-focused treatments while ensuring every client feels supported and understood.
I have a particular interest in education-led care, barrier repair, and tailored treatment programs. I am highly familiar with medical-grade skincare ingredients and advanced treatment modalities and am known for my ability to adapt quickly and confidently within clinical environments.
Joining the MediSkin team, I will also be introducing threading, waxing, and sugaring services. Threading is a precise, chemical-free hair removal technique using a twisted cotton thread to remove hair directly from the follicle, making it ideal for facial hair and eyebrow shaping with minimal skin disruption. Waxing and sugaring provide additional hair removal options, allowing treatments to be tailored to individual skin types and preferences.
Outside of the clinic, I am a busy mum of three and value balance, care, and connection — qualities I naturally bring into my work. When I’m not spending time fixing skins, I’m focused on family life and enjoying time together.

Warmest greetings
Mel

WHAT is a

Dermal Clinician?

Dermal Clinician is a graduate of Victoria University, Melbourne who has successfully completed the Bachelor of Health Science Degree in Dermal Therapies and is a financial member of the Australian Society of Dermal Clinicians (ASDC).  This unique degree as well as the ASDC have been specially designed to cover the need for qualified and registered training and education in the area of non surgical skin treatments and the operation and understanding  of lasers and light based equipment in the Skin industry.
Dermal Clinicians are specifically qualified and trained to the highest level to administer and assist in medical and aesthetic cosmetic and skin care treatments.

As well as providing advanced cosmetic treatments such as light based hair removal, chemical peels and Microdermabrasions, they also assist in the management of Post Operative, Dermal and Scar conditions.

WHY would I see a

 Dermal Clinician?

Today's modern  society and the constant emergence of new  and advanced technologies and products in the aesthetic industry has increased the need for  appropriate training, qualification and  registration .
Dermal Clinicians are trained to the highest degree and follow strict protocols and guidelines when performing therapeutic/remedial treatments.
A dedication to evidence based practice and the maintaining of  continuous education is a minimum standard for every Dermal Clinician.
Unfortunately in  Australia there is no exact regulations for the Dermal Therapy and aesthetic skin industry and therefore a lot of practitioners do not have the necessary qualifications to perform treatments in a safe and successful manner. Therefore make sure to ask your practitioner for proof of training & qualifications by nationally accredited university or training institution (e.g University degree, Light & laser safety training) as well as the type and quality of equipment (medical grade).
A thorough consultation, consents &  test patching are some of the signatures of a Dermal Clinician.
