A bit about me...

Picture
My name is Linda, and I am a qualified Dermal Clinician with a Bachelor of Health Science Degree in Clinical Dermal Therapies from Victoria University (VU) in Melbourne, Australia.
My journey in the Health and Beauty industry started in 2000 when I graduated with an Advanced  Beauty Therapy apprenticeship and started working at a prominent Dermatological Skin Clinic and Cosmetic Surgery in Muenster (Germany). This is when I specialised in Permanent Hair Removal with Electrolysis; Therapeutic Acne Treatments; Chemical Peels; General Skin Treatments for sun damaged & aged Skin as well as the management and treatment of various disorders related to the skin, including Medical Pedicures, Rosacea & Eczema.
In working closely with Dermatologists, Plastic Surgeons and Nurses, I gained an exceptional drive for therapeutically correcting disorders related to the skin.

In 2006, I moved to Australia with plans to work and travel. After learning about the Bachelor degree in Dermal Therapy in 2007, I enrolled in 2008 and joined a well-known Skin Clinic in Malvern, Victoria. There, I specialized in medical-grade skin treatments using therapeutic active products and high-quality medical Laser and Pulse Light equipment. I have successfully treated various skin disorders, including Acne, Scarring, Pigmentation, Rosacea, Vascular problems of the face, neck, and body, as well as aged and sun-damaged skin. My expertise also extends to podiatric treatments, including medical pedicures, Onychomycosis (Fungal infections of the nail) treatments, and Wart removal on hands and feet using Lasers.

I became an active member of the Australian Society of Dermal Clinicians (ASDC)in 2008 and served on its elected  committee from 2010 to 2015,
In 2012 I started working at a doctors Clinic in Brighton and lectured in the Dermal Science program at Victoria University.
In 2013, embracing a new chapter, my partner and I relocated to Bairnsdale, where I fulfilled a long-held dream of opening my own Skin and Laser Clinic, MediSkin, situated within the Bairnsdale Health & Wellness Center. Keen on continual growth, I pursued further education, completing courses in cosmetic and medical Micropigmentation, as well as advanced training in Fibroblast Plasma Treatments in Germany.

To stay abreast of the latest developments in skin health, I actively participate in workshops, seminars, and conferences, always striving for optimal results and utmost patient satisfaction. My commitment to continuous education, evidence-based research, and passion for all things related to skin health are at the core of my practice.

When I'm not immersed in the world of skin care, I cherish quality time with my family and explore the outdoors.

Feel free to reach out if you'd like to learn more!

Friendly Greetings

WHAT is a

Dermal Clinician?

Dermal Clinician is a graduate of Victoria University, Melbourne who has successfully completed the Bachelor of Health Science Degree in Dermal Therapies and is a financial member of the Australian Society of Dermal Clinicians (ASDC).  This unique degree as well as the ASDC have been specially designed to cover the need for qualified and registered training and education in the area of non surgical skin treatments and the operation and understanding  of lasers and light based equipment in the Skin industry.
Dermal Clinicians are specifically qualified and trained to the highest level to administer and assist in medical and aesthetic cosmetic and skin care treatments.

As well as providing advanced cosmetic treatments such as light based hair removal, chemical peels and Microdermabrasions, they also assist in the management of Post Operative, Dermal and Scar conditions.

WHY would I see a

 Dermal Clinician?

Today's modern  society and the constant emergence of new  and advanced technologies and products in the aesthetic industry has increased the need for  appropriate training, qualification and  registration .
Dermal Clinicians are trained to the highest degree and follow strict protocols and guidelines when performing therapeutic/remedial treatments.
A dedication to evidence based practice and the maintaining of  continuous education is a minimum standard for every Dermal Clinician.
Unfortunately in  Australia there is no exact regulations for the Dermal Therapy and aesthetic skin industry and therefore a lot of practitioners do not have the necessary qualifications to perform treatments in a safe and successful manner. Therefore make sure to ask your practitioner for proof of training & qualifications by nationally accredited university or training institution (e.g University degree, Light & laser safety training) as well as the type and quality of equipment (medical grade).
A thorough consultation, consents &  test patching are some of the signatures of a Dermal Clinician.
