MICRODERMABRASION
What is Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a rejuvenation treatment that is designed to naturally support the growth of your skin cells via mechanical exfoliation and the use of medical grade nutrients and vitamins, therefore improving the texture & clarity of your skin.
How does it work? There are two clinical versions of microdermabrasion machines, both designed to exfoliate the skin's surface, revealing fresh new skin cells and stimulating collagen production.
One version, known as 'crystal microdermabrasion,' employs sand-like aluminum oxide crystals that are sprayed onto the skin's surface, acting like a sandblaster on the upper skin cells. The other version, called 'crystal-free' or 'diamond tip microdermabrasion,' utilizes a sterile diamond head to polish the upper layers of the skin.
Both methods involve applying suction, creating negative pressure on the skin to stimulate oxygen and blood flow. This increase in circulation benefits collagen and elastin synthesis, rejuvenating the skin and reducing signs of sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged and blocked pores, and dull appearances, leaving the skin clean and refreshed.
At MediSkin, we perform microdermabrasion using sterile diamond heads.
How many treatments will I need?
Usually a course of 3-6 treatments is recommended to improve lines, scars or other inflammatory skin conditions like acne and rosacea. However, gradual and progressive improvements are seen with each session in most people. We recommended to have a microdermabrasion at least every 6 month, during the seasonal changes or before a big event to clean and refresh the skin.

CHEMICAL & ENZYME PEELS
Chemical peels: are another option to exfoliate and resurface the skin. They are topical exfoliants in forms of acids applied to the skin to soften, exfoliate or rejuvenate the skin.
Enzyme peels: An enzyme peel is a type of chemical peel that uses natural enzymes, typically derived from fruits like papaya, pineapple, or pumpkin, to exfoliate the skin. These enzymes work by breaking down and dissolving dead skin cells, resulting in smoother, brighter, and more radiant skin. Enzyme peels are generally gentler than other chemical peels and are suitable for sensitive skin types. They can help improve skin texture, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and enhance overall skin tone. Enzyme peels are often used as a mild exfoliation treatment to maintain healthy skin or as part of a regular skincare routine.
By exfoliating (removing upper layers of Epidermis) and / or stimulating cell turnover, Microdermabrasion & Peels may help to restore the skin to a more youthful appearance and therefore improve acne, scarring, texture, pigmentation, as well as fine lines and wrinkles etc. These modalities also allow for nutrients and vitamins to the skin. penetrate into the deeper lying cells which will become the new surface of your skin
