SQT® Bio-Microneedling (Spongilla Spicules)

Picture
Advanced Skin Renewal – Needle-Free & Clinically Driven
SQT® Bio-Microneedling is an advanced clinical skin rejuvenation treatment designed to rapidly improve skin quality, clarity and function using microscopic Spongilla spicules derived from freshwater sponges.
This unique, needle-free treatment works by delivering millions of natural micro-spicules into the epidermis and upper dermis, where they create extensive micro-channels and activate the skin’s natural healing and regeneration pathways. The result is accelerated cellular turnover, increased collagen and elastin production, and visibly improved skin texture — without needles, devices, bleeding or heat.
SQT® offers a powerful alternative to traditional microneedling, with faster visible results and a biologically driven response that respects skin integrity while stimulating deep renewal.

Skin Concerns Treated:
SQT® Bio-Microneedling is suitable for a wide range of skin concerns and skin types when clinically assessed, including: • Active acne and congestion • Acne scarring and textural irregularities • Pigmentation, sun damage and uneven tone • Enlarged pores and rough skin texture • Fine lines and early signs of ageing • Dull, tired or sluggish skin
For many clients, one SQT® treatment may deliver results comparable to multiple traditional microneedling sessions, making it an effective option for skin correction and rejuvenation.

What You May Experience:
During the treatment: Sensations such as tingling, prickling or warmth are normal and expected. These sensations are closely monitored by your dermal clinician.
Post-treatment responses may include: • Redness and warmth • Skin tightness and dryness • Mild swelling for up to 48 hours • Visible shedding or flaking from approximately day 3–5
These responses indicate that the skin’s regenerative process has been activated.

Pre-Treatment Care:
To ensure optimal results and minimise the risk of adverse reactions, the following guidelines must be followed:
7–14 days prior to treatment
  • Discontinue retinol, retinoids, vitamin A derivatives, AHAs, BHAs, PHAs, exfoliants and enzyme products
  • Avoid professional skin treatments including chemical peels, laser, IPL, RF and microneedling
  •  Use a gentle cleanser, moisturiser and daily broad-spectrum SPF
Treatment will not proceed if the skin is sunburned, irritated, compromised, or presenting with active infection, lesions or herpes simplex.

Post-Treatment Care:

(Essential)Correct post-treatment care is critical to skin recovery and final results.
First 24–72 hours
  •  Do not cleanse the skin for a minimum of 12 hours (or as advised by your clinician)
  • Avoid makeup for at least 24 hours • Avoid excessive heat, sweating, gym, saunas, steam rooms and swimming
  • Do not touch, rub, scratch or exfoliate the skin
  • Use only clinician-recommended post-procedure products
Days 3–7
  • Shedding or peeling may occur — do not pick or manually remove skin
  • Continue gentle cleanser and moisturiser only
  • Apply broad-spectrum SPF daily and reapply as required
  • Avoid direct sun exposure and heat activities up to 14 days post-treatment
  • Avoid retinoids, acids, vitamin A and active cosmeceuticals
  • Avoid further professional treatments unless approved by your clinician
Failure to follow post-care instructions may increase the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, delayed healing or scarring.

Contraindications:
SQT® Bio-Microneedling is not suitable for clients who:
  •  Are currently using or have used Isotretinoin (Roaccutane/Accutane) within the last 6 months*
  • Have severe rosacea, eczema, psoriasis or significantly impaired barrier function*

*relative contraindication – clinician assessment required

A full consultation, medical history review and informed consent are required prior to treatment, in line with professional dermal practice standards.
